Website Design by Artisan Painting
My name is Keith Wheatley.  I've lived in Nashville for twenty-nine years.  While many people move here to get into the music business, I moved here from Los Angeles to get out.  Guess I've never been one to do things in a typical manner.  Once here, I spent twenty years in corporate America and then decided it was time for yet another change.  Always fascinated by art and design, I opened Artisan Painting and began the never ending journey of learning the art of decorative painting and have never looked back.  I try to apply that sense of the unorthodox and a unique perspective to my work.

I've been fortunate to have studied at some of the finest schools in the country, including Martin Alan Hirsch’s Decorative Finishes Studio in Louisville, KY, and am licensed to use the Faux Effects Gold Line of products, considered by many to be the very best available.  Recently, I traveled to Canada to study woodgraining and marbling with Mike MacNeil, one of the true masters of the art.  I pride myself on staying on the cutting edge of new decorative trends, as well as perfecting those that are tried and true.  It's so exciting learning a new technique, a new finish, but the real reward comes from taking what you learn and coming up with a finish that is your own creation.  Then, taking that finish and customizing it to a client's taste, making it unique to them, and seeing their excitement when they see the end results.  That's truly satisfying and is one of the things I love most about what I do.  When you look at  my finish gallery, I hope this excitement and sense of adventure is evident in my work.

My wife Nan and I continue to live in Nashville with our hundred pound rescue dog, Sherman.  I still maintain my love  of music and have a small recording studio in my home.  Music can be such an inspiration for creating new finishes, and vice versa.  I always listen to my iPod  when I work.
